Technical – Sound Specifications
Steve Reich Triple Quartet
Speaker Installation
The PA system should provide full-frequency coverage to all seating areas at a level appropriate to the venue. Preferred manufacturers for speaker cabinets: D&B, Meyer, Shermann or equivalent.
Provisional locations:
Stereo FOH – possibly flown
2 Foldback monitors – 2 mixes to stand mounted monitors at ear height for seated musicians (JBL control 5, hotspot etc.)
on-stage headphone amplifier providing four headphone outputs with individual volume control.
4 x headphoe extension cables from amplifier to four player positions, with stereo jack socket.
All channels require EQ control from mix position
FOH Control
The mix position should be located within the audience area, central and towards the back. A desk lamp and additional mains socket will be needed.
Mixer
Preferred models: Yamaha PM or M range, MIDAS, Crest
20 inputs (8 inputs from stage, 12 inputs from control rack)
3 pre-fade auxiliary sends
2 post-fade auxiliary sends
High-quality sweepable EQ on input channels
Mute grouping
Other Control
1 x CD player with pause or standby mode – or hot-start
1 x Tascam DA88 / 38 / 98, 8-track digital audio tape player
1 x Lexicon PCM80/90 or equivalent reverb
Microphones
All cables to be provided by PA company/venue
4 x cardioid condensor mics – preferred AKG 414; Sennheiser MKH40
4 x Sennheiser MKE2 clip mics plus phantom power unit (we will supply these)
3 x standard size adjustable boom mic stands
1 x short size adjustable boom mic stands
